Since graduating high school, my close friend Ricky and I make it a point to do a camping and fishing trip each summer. Living in different states makes this tricky at times, but no matter what, we make sure we get a few days together to chase wild trout and share a few beers.

We camped in an area that was new to the both of us with plenty of new water. Every turn offered deep runs of off colored teal water carving through steep red canyons. The trout were aggressive and eager to eat, yet they were partial to alot of our fly offerings. They were holding deep and wanted flashy reactive lures making for some really fun fishing. Between the few days we spent out there we landed over a hundred trout with a mixed bag of Yellowstone Cutthroats, Browns, Rainbows, and possibly Kokanee.

This summer's trip treated us well. Gorgeous country, small towns, cold beers, warm fires, and hungry trout were all we needed.
